Ghana: Effiduasi Abdul ‘Shatta Wale’ Aziz Babao Stabbed to Death at Effiduasi

A twenty-year-old resident of Effiduasi Abdul Aziz Babao popularly called Shatta Wale was on Saturday stabbed death by his friend.

According to a former assemblyman for the area Abdul Razak , a disagreement ensued between one Rasty and the deceased and in the process the suspect pulled a pair of scissors and stabbed him on the chest.

“I was in my room when I overheard them calling me. When I came out I saw the deceased in a pool of blood and I asked some residents to help me rush him to the hospital. Unfortunately for us he was pronounced dead on arrival”, he told mynewsgh.com

But the timely intervention of relations, the suspect would have been lynched after being subjected to severe beatings from aggrieved family members of the deceased.

The deceased, though named “ShattaWale” should not be confused with the reggae star, whose real name is Charles Nii “Shatta Wale” Armah Mensah.

He has since been handed over to the police and currently in detention assisting them in their investigations.

Police in Effiduasi confirmed the incident and disclosed that as a result of the beatings he received, they feared he could die and had to rush him to the hospital in the area for medical attention.

“We will after investigations arraign him before the court but we released the body to the family for burial because the area is a predominantly a Muslim community”, the police said.
