Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg’s simplicity has been a trending topic for days in Nigeria and it appears the President, Muhammadu Buhari, is fanning the flames.

Zuckerberg who returned to Nigeria after a short trip to Kenya was in Abuja as a guest of the president for a tech event, the Aso Villa Demo Day, where he was complemented by the president for his simplicity.

According to Buhari, Nigerians are not used to seeing successful people appear the way Zuckerberg does.

He was quoted saying: “I am impressed by your simplicity in sharing your knowledge and wealth with those with less income. In our culture, we are not used to seeing successful people appear like you. We are not used to seeing successful people jogging and sweating on the streets. We are more used to seeing successful people in air-conditioned places. We are happy you are well-off and simple enough to always share.”
