A bus accident in central Kenya Sunday morning killed at least 36 people and injured 11 others.

AFP reports that the crash occurred on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway when a bus traveling from Busia collided with a truck coming from Nakuru.

More than 100 people have been killed along that section of highway in December alone, police said.

According to the Kenyan newspaper The Star, the bus was traveling in the wrong lane at the time of the accident.
