According to Patricia Garuka, the Bralirwa Senior Brand Manager, the artistes have confirmed their participation and that people should get ready for great entertainment. Getting to the venue will be easy as bus shuttles will be available to transport the festival goers.
Initially the organisers wanted to bring in Haitian singer, Wyclef Jean but Garuka explained that they realised the people who are into entertainment are young people, thus compelling them to bring the Nigerian music star whose music is currently popular internationally.
Wizkid, who started his music career at the age of 11, is one of Nigeria’s top artistes. His hard work has earned him several awards at local and international level.
The 26-year-old, real name Ibrahim Ayodeji Balogun has a huge fan base in Rwanda. His songs such as Ojuelegba, Jaiye Jaiye, Love My Baby, Bombay (ft Phyno), Holla at Your Boy, Show You the Money, Don’t Dull, Pakurumo, and Azonto, among others, are enjoying massive airplay on most radio and TV stations in Rwanda.
Last year’s edition of the Fest took place in September and featured Uganda’s Lillian Mbabazi and South Africa’s Mafikizolo.
