Ghana’s President, Nana Kufuour Addo says he is fully satisfied with the stable health condition of his Nigerian counterpart, President Muhammadu Buhari.
Addo made the remark while briefing State House Correspondents on Tuesday, soon after a closed door meeting with President Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The Ghanaian leader said he had to come over to Abuja to see President Buhari, in order to be sure he has fully recovered.
“I came from Accra today to come and visit my senior brother, President Buhari. All of us have been very anxious about his well-being and it was pleasant news to hear that he had returned from London but we are Africans so I had to come and see for myself how he is doing and I am delighted to see that he is very vigorous. So we had a good half an hour together, reviewing matters both in Nigeria and Ghana” he said.
ECOWAS
Nana Kufuour Addo said they also looked at issues that had to do with the entire West Africa region.
“We had discussions on immediate matters to do with what’s going on in the ECOWAS community and I am going back to Ghana very fortified and able to tell the Ghanaians that our big brother is well and things are well in hand here,” he concluded.
‘Good relationship’
The Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina said the visit showed that the relationship between Nigeria and Ghana and is equally good for sub-regional cooperation.
“It was a friendly visit just to check up on our President since he came back from his medical vacation few weeks ago. It shows that Nigeria’s tie with Ghana remains steady,” Adesina said.
While the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu affirmed discussions between the two leaders which bothered on West Africa, the entire African continent, and global issues.
He said the relationship between Nigeria and Ghana has been going on very well and would continue to do so.
