Vice President Yemi Osinbajo Monday expressed excitement about the future of Nigeria, saying there is hope for greater future for the country.

Professor Osinbajo spoke to journalists at the Eagle Square, Abuja, where he joined President Muhammadu Buhari and other notable Nigerians in celebration to mark Nigeria’s 58th Independence Anniversary.

He said: “I’m extremely excited about the prospects and the future of our great country.

“And I think that just looking at the displays today, and looking at the competence and capability of our military, there is such great hope and excitement.

“So, it is a fantastic time for our country and we are all very hopeful; we are very expectant of a greater and much greater future for the nation.”

Professor Osinbajo’s remarks on Monday followed his declarations and prayer for renewal and restoration at the inter-denominational church service on Sunday at the National Christian Centre, Abuja.

The vice president said at the service that Nigeria’s anniversary offered an opportunity to bless the country and declare blessings upon it and upon the people of Nigeria.
