The coalition of Northern Group and Igbo leaders in the North have formed a 10 man committee to come up with terms that will lead to peace and suspension of the quit notice order.
The development came as both groups met in Kano state on Friday.
The convener of the meeting, Ali Tijani says the committee is expected to sit and submit its report within 72 hours.
“Their terms of reference include coming up with the best modalities that can lead to suspension of the quit notice order,” Tijani stated.
He said that five people each were selected from both parties in order to reach meaningful and acceptable resolutions that can lead to the end of the agitations.

Members of the Committee from the Igbo side include Chi Nwogu, Eze Ngozi Nwaiwe, Igwe Boniface Ibekwe, Bar. Magnus Ihejirika, Bar. Chris.
Representatives of the Coalition Northern Group include Bar. Abdullahi Toro, Dr. Abba Bukar Kagu, Dr. Yima Sen, Dauda S. Shamakuri, and Ado Mohmoud.
Without pre-empting the outcome of the committee, Chi Nwogu who spoke on behalf the Igbos said: “the north remains the home of the Igbo as such they are not going anywhere before, during and after the expiration of the quit notice, adding that they believe in Nigeria as a corporate entity.”
The Chairman of the Arewa youth Forum, Ambassador Shettima Yarima who issued the quit notice, said it was not intended to cause violence or chase the Igbos from the north.
He said the call was to draw attention to the level of insecurity occasioned by the abuse, hate speech on the north and the secession threat by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
The Arewa Youth Forum which is part of the Coalition of the Northern group had in June given the Igbos until the first of October this year, to quit the 19 states of the northern region which according to them is in response to the secession threats by the IPOB.
