Hillary Clinton surged to a five-point lead over Donald Trump in a four-way matchup according to a new ABC News-Washington Post tracking poll out Sunday, taking 48 percent of the vote among likely voters compared to 43 percent for her Republican opponent.

Clinton’s lead came after a difficult week for the Democratic nominee after FBI Director James Comey sent a letter to lawmakers announcing that his agency was looking into emails “pertinent” to its previous investigation into the former secretary of state’s private server.

The ABC poll found that Clinton’s lead was based on her qualifications and temperament, with 55 percent of voters finding her qualified to be president as opposed to 32 percent who thought that Trump was better qualified. She trailed Trump in honesty, 44 to 40 percent.

In the previous ABC-Post poll, released Nov. 1, Trump led Clinton by 1 point.

According to TPM’s PollTracker Average, Clinton leads Trump by 46.4 to 42.7 nationally with two days to go before Election Day.

The ABC-Post poll was conducted by landline and cell phone from Nov. 1-4 among 1,685 likely voters. Respondents were interviewed in both English and Spanish, and the margin of error was plus or minus 2.5 percentage points.
