2019 Elections: Atiku promises to build abandoned seaports

The Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku has promised to build the abandoned seaports and complete the 2nd Niger Bridge, to enable citizens enjoy the dividends of democracy.

At the Presidential campaign rally held on Thursday in Asaba, the Delta State capital, Atiku called on Nigerians to come out en-mass during the election to vote for him and the party at large.

He says his major goal is to pull 50 million Nigerians from poverty before year 2023.

He said Nigerians should be able to compete with other countries of the world in terms of technological advancement.

Atiku stressed that the citizens would not regret voting for the party since Delta state has always been a PDP state right from the inception of Democracy in Nigeria since 1999.

The Director General of the campaign teams, Olusola Saraki enjoined Nigerians to vote for the party in the forthcoming election to tackle hunger experiencing in this present dispensation.

He added that Nigerians do not have enough employments which the PDP is ready to provide for them.

The Vice Presidential candidate of the party, Peter Obi called on Nigerians to give the party the opportunity again to better the lives of the people.

School free day

The State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa had declared a school free day holiday in Asaba, to enable the citizens participate in the rally since the affairs of the state had been ran by the party.

Agricultural Inputs
Governor Okowa said that the citizens would continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy only if they cast their votes for the party, giving evidences to the good development the party had brought to the state.

He said that the Ministry of Agricultural and Natural Resources has the mandate to facilitate the production of sufficient food for the teeming population of the state through direct assistance to farmers.

According to him, this could be done through the agricultural mechanization, provision  of improved and high yielding seeds and other agricultural inputs, loans in cash and in kind, extension services etc.

The Delta State government had put in place adequate plans to ensure food Security under the Governor Okowa’s S.M.A.R.T. Agenda through the empowerment of existing farmers and encouraging new entrants into Agriculture through programs and projects.

S stands for Strategic wealth creation project and provision of jobs for all Deltans,
M-  Meaningful peace building platform aimed at political/social stability,
A- Agricultural reform and accelerated industrialization,
R- Relevant health and education policies and
T- Transformed environment through urban renewal.
